We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Application Developer for our Firmwide office, located in San Francisco. The Application Developer should have at least five to seven years of development experience.

The Application Developer will be responsible for developing applications to meet the needs of the firm as well as the following duties:
• Develops, maintains and supports administrative department applications. Performs transfer of data between systems, implements and test security and monitors database.
• Collaborates in the development and finalization of program specifications and requirements. Designs, develops, test, documents, deploys, maintains and supports custom applications or utilities for use by the firm.
• Develop and deploy software per requirements and design specifications using current firm standard technologies, development tools and methodologies, best practices and design patterns to create an object-oriented architecture which is extensible and reusable.
 • Manage all facets involved with design and implementation of new systems and existing product upgrades, including: needs analysis, requirements, scope definition, and management, budgeting, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, communications, training, support and hand off to day-to-day manager upon completion.
• Work closely with business users to gather and document requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
• Write test plans and conduct unit, systems integration, alpha and beta testing.
• Work closely with IT Ops and IT Applications to make best use of firm hardware and data infrastructure.
• Provide 3rd tier support to deployed applications, in pilot or production.
 
Experience and Education:

• At least five to seven years of development experience, including web applications and components in the Microsoft. Net application development environment, web parts for Sharepoint, Microsoft Access database applications, scripting, SQL stored procedures, view, etc.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft .Net Framework, Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Visual Basic, ASP .Net, VBScript, Web Development, IIS, SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Windows Sharepoint Services and Sharepoint Portal Server, XML/XSLT, Workflow Automation Tools.
• Requires the ability to evaluate and translate business requirements to system specifications.
• Must possess strong planning and organizational skills and be able to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain own calendar.
• Strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills to keep other informed of work progress, timing, and issues, and to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical personnel.
• Capability to identify issues, develop effective solutions and negotiate effectively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.

Requirements:

• Willingness and ability to learn the business aspects of the Firm's Practices and the impact of technology to established and future processes
• Committed to the development, implementation, and improvement of the technology services which are part of the Firm's Practices
• Working knowledge of Microsoft's Windows Server Operating System versions 2003 & 2008; certifications preferred
• Working knowledge of Database systems including: TSQL query / scripting, data cleansing / reconciliation; certifications preferred
