Multi-Media Communications Manager
Reports To:  Director of Operations

Responsibilities:  The exempt position of  Multi-Media Communications Manager is primarily responsible for the management and maintenance of all audio visual rooms, video conference equipment, internal conference bridge administration, external conferencing, CLE and Webinar coordination, along with ISDN lines associated with existing Tandberg.  Responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and repairs to the equipment, and its related software and network components. Secondary responsibilities will include support of multi-function devices, cost recovery systems, Omtool scanning and faxing services, cabling, overhead paging, Andover security, and development of FM asset program.

Specific Duties:  The specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain the overall design of the firm's A/V systems.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of best practices and advances in emerging technologies within the legal industry, closely matching technology solutions to the business needs of the firm.

• Maintain system documentation, as-builts, service manuals, and knowledge base articles for the support of each system.

• Develop and implement training materials.

• Act as liaison between Operations, Networking and End-User Support.

• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure that audio visual and conferencing technologies are meeting business requirements and are effectively marketed.

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate either in person, email or by phone with attorneys and staff.

• Experience with coordinating and managing events in multiple offices, utilizing local resources for on site technical support and set up.

• Technical skills to perform equipment setup, testing, and troubleshooting associated with any hardware, software, or programming malfunctions within the conferencing and audio visual environment.  Equipment includes audio and video systems, cameras, projectors, monitors, control systems, PCs and more.  Must understand audio and video flow and standards for troubleshooting.

• In-depth knowledge of legacy and state of the art multimedia systems and equipment used in best of class conference centers, including video-conferencing. 

• Familiarity with all types of AV equipment and control systems including, but not limited to Crestron.

• Understanding of LAN/WAN hardware and software for switches, hubs, routers, bridges, modems, multiplexors, point-to-point date circuits via copper and fiber for audio and video.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to video-conferencing, connectivity, and AV equipment.

• Proven ability to anticipate, identify, and quickly resolve technical problems that affect application and system availability.

• Solid understanding of audio, video, and lighting as they relate to the video conference environment.

• Experience in setup, configuration, and troubleshooting to the network level on Tandberg, Polycom, Soundpath AdobeConnect and similar systems.

• Knowledge of audio and video production tools such as  laptops, video switchers, digital cameras, mixers, professional grade video cameras, professional audio and video recorders, LCDs, microphones, and related components.

• Ability to manage vendors, equipment manufacturers, and integrators to install, test and configure new systems.

Professional Characteristics:  Remain current on new advances in AV and telepresence field through professional affiliations, training, trade publications, and personal contacts.  Self-motivated, technically competent, work independently and as part of a team; able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple high priority projects simultaneously.

Additional Skills Needed:  Familiar with CAD and Visio, General knowledge of Windows XP and Windows 7 and working in a domain environment.  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites and highly skilled in PowerPoint.  Prior experience with WebEx, GoToWebinar, LiveMeeting, or other Webinar technologies necessary.  General knowledge of SQL reporting.

Education and Competencies:

• Minimum 5+ years A/V broadcast or telecommunications experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or technical school training with equivalent experience also considered.
• BICSI Certified
• Infocomm Certified Technical Specialist General Certification Required
• Infocomm Certified Technical Specialist in AV Design Preferred
• CompTIA A+ certification preferred or commitment to attain within six months of employment.
 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Sighted.
• Must be able to lift and move equipment being supported by this position and other hardware up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available for after hours support
• Must be available to work, as needed, above the 37.5 standard work week.
• Travel to other firm locations and/or remote training sites will be required with some overnight stay.
• Must carry Firm provided mobile communications device and be available after normal working hours.

Practice Support Coordinator – Belgium – Brussels

The Brussels office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP seeks a Practice Support Coordinator to join the Brussels Practice Support Team. The Practice Support Coordinator will work under the direction of the Senior Practice Support Coordinator and in conjunction with firm staff attorneys and associates to provide support for the office at large in case management and litigation support. Duties include providing user support on litigation support software and hardware; preparing production copies of data on selected media and provides instruction to recipient on how to view data; tracking media and data for litigation matters; assisting in training attorneys and paralegals on document databases; and providing progress reports to designated Senior Staff Attorney regarding various litigation technology projects.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of the application and management of practice support technology platforms and databases including Concordance, IPRO, and third-party databases used by the Firm such as Kroll and Attenex; solid command of Microsoft applications; excellent command of English language; demonstrated interest in litigation technology; the ability to work on own initiative and in a team based environment; strong administrative skills e.g. accuracy, attention to detail, efficiency; excellent analytical skills; a professional ethic and manner; and the ability to work under pressure and to adhere to deadlines. Experience with JFS Litigator's Notebook, proficiency in a second European language a plus. Law firm information technology and/or paralegal background with experience in EU case management and litigation also a plus. The Practice Support Coordinator will work a regular schedule with the possibility of evening shifts. Flexibility to work overtime as needed required.
