We currently seek an Enterprise Applications Engineer for our IT department. This position requires attention to detail, great organizational and analytical skills. Don't miss the opportunity to work for an exciting and dynamic law firm located in the heart of the Penn Quarter.
Overview of Responsibilities:
• Engineer desktop and laptop image to include testing and deploying service packs, patches, and hot fixes for the operating system and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Engineer deployments of applications via tools such as NetInstall or SMS/SCCM 2007.
• Engineer and troubleshoot all aspects of image and application interoperability with firm's applications. This includes testing deployment and usability with our IT department and IT Pilot Group across the Firm.
• Engineer the Citrix desktop environment for optimal customer experience.
• Manage the relationship between Citrix desktops and desktop/laptop images.
• Troubleshoot enterprise applications, Interwoven, IP Manager, Elite, ViDesktop, Citrix, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Exchange and others.
• Work within Active Directory groups and distribution list memberships and security as it pertains to access for Enterprise Applications.
• Mentors and collaborates with other IT department professionals on issues surrounding reliable performance of Enterprise Applications and Citrix.
• Monitors and addresses servers' application logs daily to ensure the overall health of applications running on that server.
• Mentor junior IT department personnel to troubleshoot Enterprise Applications, and desktop/laptop image issues.
• Coordinate with remote office IT staff to understand the nuances of their environments and the impact it has on the Firm's image and Citrix desktop environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Mastery of network concepts, application interoperability and operating systems.
• Mastery of Active Directory Users and Groups.
• Mastery of Citrix Metaframe across an Enterprise.
• Expert with end-user applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Interwoven, and Access. Solid knowledge of the Internet, MS Exchange and MS SQL database systems.
• Must have experience in developing installation packages using one or more of the common packaging technologies - Install Shield, Wise Packaging Studio, and Windows Installer.
• Must have expert knowledge in Application packaging, Application Compatibility testing and Software Distribution.
• Familiarity in working with VMWare and Ghost Images, Image loading using PXE and Symantec Ghost.
• Must have expert knowledge in VB, Windows scripts and also able to create custom actions using them.
• Ability to mentor a diverse staff.
• Must be detail oriented and logical.
• Must have strong PC skills including hardware, OS, and software knowledge.
• Must have project management skills.
• Must have strong analytical ability and problem solving acumen.
• Must have strong oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Must work well both independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and change course rapidly as priorities change.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers and outside parties.
• Visual acuity sufficient to permit performance of job functions enumerated above.
Required Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Networking or directly related field. Equivalent work experience in a IT Networking field/environment may be considered in lieu of some education.
• Minimum five years experience Enterprise Applications or network administration experience in a Windows Server environment.
• Minimum three years experience with software deployment in a networked environment using tools such as SMS/SCCM 2007 or Netinstall.
• Minimum four years experience in a large (500+ nodes, 20+ servers) network environment.
