Senior Solutions Engineer – CA – San Francisco

- We are currently searching for a Senior Solutions Engineer. The candidate will report to the Global Director of Platinum Services and plays a key role to the overall success of the Workshare sales team. The candidate will be responsible for working with prospective customers, existing accounts, and regional partners in building long-term relationships and articulating the Workshare value proposition. The candidate works both in conjunction with both front-end sales increasing the Workshare footprint in both new business and existing customer base, along with post-sale TAM customer service team to ensure successful software deployments. This role exists to support the technical aspects of a sales cycle, marketing initiatives, and assist in resolving customer issues.

Responsibilities:
• Technical selling: engage with account executives within sales meetings and sales calls, and assist with the management and close of a sale when required
• Pre-sales technical support: advise/provide technical guidance to existing customers and prospective opportunities on all aspects of the product, including operation, use and integration, supporting them through the sales cycle.
• Managing technical evaluations, such as risk assessments and owning technical responses to RFIs and RFPs from customers or channel partners
• Product demonstration at customer meets and calls, partner meets and calls, and other marketing conferences and seminars
• Escalate and manage the outcome of technical issues through Global Director, in order to help ensure closure on a deal and subsequent customer success
• Advise Product Liaisons for both client and server product lines as to current and future client needs
• Liaise with Support teams to ensure prospect technical issues are address and resolved efficiently
• Engage, train and support Workshare Partners in territory to expand sales coverage and market awareness

Skills:

• Creative problem solving, strategic thinking, communication, and ability to transition to tactical action
• Provide planning, designing and implementing of Workshare products in a pre-sales and post-sales capacity
• Clear understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to affect Fast Track processes through strong teaming with Product and Engineering teams
• Experience supporting and delivering solutions in the following environments: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Office 2000/XP/2003/2007, Server 2003, SharePoint 2003/2007/2010 environments. Awareness of Windows 7, Office 2010 and Server 2008
• Document Management System (DMS) experience with one or more of the following: Autonomy iManage (Interwoven) Filesite/Desksite/Worksite, Opentext (Hummingbird) DM, DocsOpen or equivalent in the legal vertical
• Experience with SaaS (cloud computing) as a concept, and leveraging CRM systems for team productivity (SalesForce) in particular
• Email Systems experience with one of more of the following: Lotus Notes and Exchange
• Experience with one or more of the following third party deployment tools: Active Directory, Altiris, SMS (SCCM), or a solid familiarity with MSI protocol, properties and switches
• Experience with multi-user environments such as Citrix and/or RDP
• Experience with virtualization environments (such as VMWare, Softgrid)
• Black box logging tools (such as BMC Identify AppSight, Wireshark)
• Presentation and web conferencing skills (such as Webex, Live Meeting, GoToMeeting)

Experience:
• Degree or equivalent experience
• At least 3 - 5 years technical field pre-sales experience within a successful high-volume software business
• Must have expert level of SharePoint 2003/2007/2010
• Must have expert level experience of application/system integration
• Must have a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on networking experience
• Certifications are an advantage (Network+, CIPP, CCNA, MCSE, MOS, MCAS).
• Experience working in a law firm environment is desired
• Must have prior experience working with senior level executives in various industries
• Formal sales training.
• Full proficiency with Workshare product suite is desired
• Hands-on experience with SFDC CRM

General Summary:
The Systems Analyst supports the Corporate computer systems and users to increase operating efficiencies, enhance performance and improve access to information for planning and decision-making purposes.   Requires problem solving, analysis, research and troubleshooting ability in a technical environment to diagnose, correct and test issues.  The position will work directly with Calendar and Records Management and personnel to provide application support and data analysis for FileSurf and CompuLaw applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•         Assist with Ad-hoc custom report requests used for managing the daily activities within the Records and Calendaring departments

•         Analyze and test programs to increase operating efficiencies or enhance performance of the organization

•         Assist with Development, design, testing and implementation of small to medium size software projects working closely with various departments and users within Records and Conflicts Department.

•         Assist with developing test plans, and production support procedures for software and systems already in place or in the planning and implementation stages.

•         Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.

•         Perform Database Administration tasks, monitor and optimize system performance

•         Support production applications, primarily backend administration with some desktop application support

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

•         Degree in the field of computer science or information management systems, or 3 years related work experience
•         Experience with Calendar and Records applications preferred
•         Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
•         Proven experience with MSSQL and technical requirements analysis
•         3 years of experience with reporting tools and similar software, including Excel, Access
•         Hands on experience with SQL Server 2005, T-SQL, using stored procedures, views, etc
•         Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
•         Highly self motivated and directed
•         Ability to work independently as well in a team environment
•         Experience with law firm accounting applications and data a strong plus
•         Foresight and ability to anticipate customer and business needs
•         Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Application Developer for our Firmwide office, located in San Francisco. The Application Developer should have at least five to seven years of development experience.

The Application Developer will be responsible for developing applications to meet the needs of the firm as well as the following duties:
• Develops, maintains and supports administrative department applications. Performs transfer of data between systems, implements and test security and monitors database.
• Collaborates in the development and finalization of program specifications and requirements. Designs, develops, test, documents, deploys, maintains and supports custom applications or utilities for use by the firm.
• Develop and deploy software per requirements and design specifications using current firm standard technologies, development tools and methodologies, best practices and design patterns to create an object-oriented architecture which is extensible and reusable.
 • Manage all facets involved with design and implementation of new systems and existing product upgrades, including: needs analysis, requirements, scope definition, and management, budgeting, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, communications, training, support and hand off to day-to-day manager upon completion.
• Work closely with business users to gather and document requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
• Write test plans and conduct unit, systems integration, alpha and beta testing.
• Work closely with IT Ops and IT Applications to make best use of firm hardware and data infrastructure.
• Provide 3rd tier support to deployed applications, in pilot or production.
 
Experience and Education:

• At least five to seven years of development experience, including web applications and components in the Microsoft. Net application development environment, web parts for Sharepoint, Microsoft Access database applications, scripting, SQL stored procedures, view, etc.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft .Net Framework, Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, Visual Basic, ASP .Net, VBScript, Web Development, IIS, SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Windows Sharepoint Services and Sharepoint Portal Server, XML/XSLT, Workflow Automation Tools.
• Requires the ability to evaluate and translate business requirements to system specifications.
• Must possess strong planning and organizational skills and be able to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain own calendar.
• Strong interpersonal and proactive communication skills to keep other informed of work progress, timing, and issues, and to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical personnel.
• Capability to identify issues, develop effective solutions and negotiate effectively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.
