IT Operations Manager – DC – Washington
Tuesday, September 7th, 2010BuckleySandler LLP is seeking to fill an IT Operations Manager position in their Washington, DC office. This position will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The IT Operations Manager provides direction to the local office technology teams in all areas of technical support. The scope of technical assistance includes deployment and maintenance of PC's, laptops, printers, application software, PDA's and telephones. The IT Operations Manager will provide leadership to his/her teams and will set staff schedules, help prioritize work and generally ensure that all technology operations are addressed and resolved. This individual must be customer service oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical attorneys, business executives and staff. The ideal candidate will also have excellent technical skills and be able to provide hands-on support as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage all technical support issues in the Washington, DC, New York and Los Angeles offices.
• Manage the technical staff in each office including staff scheduling, after hours coverage, personal goal setting and performance reviews.
• Track all user support issues through the Help Desk system and identify trends, verify quality control and ensure all Service Level Agreements are being met.
• Ensure the proper setup of all meeting related technologies including videoconferences, web conferences and telephone conference calling.
• Participate in firm-wide technology projects.
• Maintain inventory of all hardware and software assets.
• Protect technology assets by following proper care and maintenance procedures in addition to enforcing information security and control policies.
• Maintain technical proficiency by participating in in-house technical training programs as well as external programs.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors degree, preferably in Information Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years supervising a technical support team.
• 5+ years of operational experience as an IT support analyst, ideally in a professional services firm.
• Technical support experience with a wide range of hardware and software platforms.
• Strong technical aptitude and creative troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong client service mindset with the skills and interest in managing customer relationships.
• May require some lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.

Technology Training Specialist – TX – Dallas
Tuesday, September 7th, 2010Jackson Walker L.L.P is looking for a Technology Training Specialist in our Dallas office. The Technology Training Specialist reports to the Training Supervisor and is responsible for the development and delivery of training to the firm's attorneys, secretaries and staff on the proper use of the firm's technology and best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Prepare and deliver new hire orientation training to incoming firm employees and ensure timely follow-up.
• Prepare and deliver training to firm employees through a variety of methods including classroom, remote, desk-side and webinars.
• Prepare monthly ongoing class schedule for the Dallas office.
• Develop new training curriculum and materials including class guides, quick reference cards, presentation materials, classroom activities, and post class exercises.
• Develop, record and edit e-learning classes with Adobe Captivate.
• Provide needed user support through escalated service desk tickets including troubleshooting, documentation through the ticket tracking system and user follow-up.
• Create and modify support and how-to articles in the Firm's Knowledgebase.
• Participate in IT department beta programs including testing of new software, engaging users participating in testing and assisting the service desk in service readiness.
• Work with the service desk and training supervisor by providing feedback and comments from the user community.
• Additional duties and special projects, as assigned by the training supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor's degree preferred in MIS, computer science, business administration, communications, education or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years experience in training or education is desired.
• Experience with the flowing applications: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); and document management systems (Hummingbird DM).
• Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with courtesy and tact.
• Must carry a Firm provided mobile communications device and be available after normal working hours.
• Monthly travel to our Ft. Worth office to provide training as needed.
• Some travel to other Firm locations and/or remote training facilities will be necessary.
