Financial Systems Analyst – IL – Chicago

In this position you will work closely with the Accounting and IS Departments to ensure proper support and maintenance of all financial system applications.  Responsibilities will include general troubleshooting, programming, configuring and support of all financial system applications.  Planning and managing system upgrades and financial technology projects.  Customizing forms/screens, reports and downloads.  Completing ad hoc reporting and project requests.  Researching and analyzing new technologies and maintaining vendor relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 3+ years experience working with financial data systems
• Minimum of 3+ years of progressive related IT experience

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Law Firm experience is ideal.  Knowledge of SQL and all Aderant's core accounting and financial modules is preferred.  Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational and problem solving skills.  Clearance of Firm standard background checks is required. General Position Description: Works under the direction of the IT Manager to assist in the designing, planning, and developing the Firm's enterprise applications, all network hardware, software and communications needs of the Firm including voice, data, video, and wireless network services.

Qualification and Requirements: At least five years of experience administering enterprise applications and network infrastructure.  A BS degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced expertise of a wide-range of computer and networking software and hardware systems and technologies related to the legal industry.
• Ability to install, configure, and maintain complex server operating systems in a virtual environment, networks (storage and data), and/or related hardware and software.
• Ability to develop and document repeatable standardized procedures for the administration and maintenance of Firm technology resources.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• In-depth knowledge of computer security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects.
• Ability to organize tasks and priorities under minimal supervision.
• Effective and professional verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to deal responsibly with sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and secure manner.
• Ability to function in a team environment.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience with client/server based operating and network systems preferably based on Microsoft infrastructure.

Essential Job Tasks: Responsible for the installation, configuration, customization and maintenance of enterprise-wide application systems and network infrastructure.  This position also provides day-to-day system administration of enterprise applications, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, ESX Virtualization, Storage Networks, Active Directory, Windows Server 2008, routers, switches, and others as required.

Other Tasks:

• Installation, configuration, customization and maintenance of the Firm's document management system, Interwoven.
• Implement solutions that will integrate with existing firm applications and databases.
• Responsible for on-going system administration of enterprise application systems.
• Establishing and maintaining extranet sites.
• Solves highly complex problems escalated from the Help Desk or other staff members.
• Provides primary or backup application administration duties on other firm systems as required.

Work environment: Frequent interaction with attorneys, staff and clients; should be able to work with minimum supervision

Manager, Applications Development – PA – Pittsburgh

- The K&L Gates Pittsburgh Office is currently looking for a Manager, Applications Development. This position is responsible for the overall management of the enterprise-wide application development team and their associated activities.  This position participates in budgeting, quality control and improvement, SDLC process improvements and client relationship management.  Additionally, this position meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner and has an in-depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing systems analysis and application development projects. 

Also, this position will design, plan and coordinate work teams, and handle complex application features and technical designs.  This position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, testing and implementing web based and/or packaged applications in a rapid development Internet environment to support the operation of the Firm's Internet, Intranet and Extranet applications.  This position will also require the application of systems analysis techniques and user consultation skills through the process of creating detailed specifications, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining various custom and packaged applications.

Requirements:
•       Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business/information technology
•       5+ years of applicable experience managing mid-sized application development teams (approx 8-15 people spanning multiple locations)
•       10+ years overall experience in the Information Technology field, preferably in the role of Application Developer/System Architect
•       Working experience with the following applications, tools and development languages required:  Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010, C#, VB, Javascript, Visual Souresafe, Ajax, Team Foundation Server, MS SQL platform, ASP.NET, IIS, .NET 2.0 and current, Sharepoint architecture, MS SQL Reporting services, Blackberry and/or iPhone development tools/techniques
•       Working experience with some/any of the following applications preferred:  IntApp, Handshake, Silverlight, Metastorm, PeopleSoft (HRMS), Crystal Reports, Elite (financial systems), Legalkey (records management) and/or Interaction (CRM)
•       Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, think analytically, and communicate effectively
