Financial Analyst – IL – Chicago

Mayer Brown is one of the world's largest and oldest law firms with offices in key business centers across the Americas, Asia and Europe. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to share best practices with the Information Services department of our firm.

Responsibilities:  Assist the Director of Information Services, IS governance functions and IS management team in all financial areas including budgeting, financial analysis, financial controls and financial/management reporting. This position will also be responsible for financial  management to ensure budget adherence when working with IS management, and delivery of regular, accurate financial reporting. In addition, this position will work with Finance and IS management on budget template deliverables and schedules, final and revised IS budgets.

 Other responsibilities include:
• Work with all IS operational resources, key users, local office and end client constituencies and finance to communicate financial plans, direction and issues
• Advise the Director to Information Services and IS management team on all aspects of IS financial due diligence, including but not limited to budgeting, financial planning, purchasing, expenditure and budget tracking
• Define and establish ongoing IS financial requirements, analysis, systems, process design and best practices to improve IS financial reporting quality and timeliness of delivery
• Develop, implement and refine  monthly financial reporting processes and relevant automation to assist in the delivery of accurate and timely financial reports
• Work with the Direction of Information Services to implement a continual set of IS financial benchmarks to measure the department's ongoing financial performance. Strive to continually improve communication of financial requirements, status and issues
• Assist with the implementation and evolution of IS general department management practices in areas related to finance
• Review, refine and implement a department procurement and review process and ensure proper tracking and payment of invoices and A/P transactions

Qualifications:   
• Bachelors degree in Accounting is required
• 5 years hands-on financial analysis and reporting experience working with budgeting, financial management and reporting software applications
• Expert in financial life cycle, methodologies, tools and practices
• Strong knowledge of financial systems and financial systems and financial reporting tools
• Ability to structure and perform ad-hoc analyses, formulate recommendations for improvement based on these analyses and communicate to management with  minimal direction
• Strong problem solving abilities, issue resolution skills, follow-up and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Access and especially Excel

Manager of Litigation Support – DC – Washington

Senior Applications Trainer – PA – Philadelphia

- Cozen O'Connor, a law firm based in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Sr. Applications Trainer.  This position will design, develop and deliver technical training programs to attorneys and staff via classroom, as well as via the web.  The in-house training website is also a source for e-learning , using Captivate4® for new and upgraded applications.  This is a full time position based in Philadelphia, reporting directly to the Manager of Training, Communications & QA.

Responsibilities; including but not limited to:
• Deliver all software/technical training courses offered to Firm attorneys and staff; training will be conducted in the classroom; through the web and one-on-one;
• Design e-learning modules, using Captivate4® software;
• Develop content for software/technical training courses, whether in core technology or for other administrative departments;
• Support the overall technology of the Firm in terms of training and providing supplemental end user troubleshooting and support where necessary;
• Troubleshoot and document user issues/problems/requests in HEAT, the Help Desk problem-tracking software. Escalates issues to ensure timely resolution;
• Ensure training curriculum and end user documentation is up-to-date and accurate;
• Stay current with training trends and methodologies to further personal growth;
• Provide support to other IS teams by providing testing of new software packages and upgrades to existing software applications;

Requirements/Experience:
• Bachelors degree and 5+ years classroom training in a legal or corporate environment.
• Must have expert knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and classroom presentation.
• Expert in designing training curriculum for classroom, as well as training via the web.
• Knowledge of legal environment and legal applications desired.
• Expertise in Adobe Captivate; SharePoint; FrontPage or designing a Training Web pages would be a definite plus!
