Description
The Practice Support Coordinator provides project management services and support to the Litigation department and insures that all projects are handled effectively to meet the demands of the case teams. Responsibilities include coordinating the activities of up to three litigation support professionals is providing in-house litigation support to attorneys, legal assistants, and clients with current technology, and to address other automation needs including electronic discovery. This role is responsible for all phases of the litigation support project lifecycle including requirements gathering, project planning, implementation and training. Additional responsibilities include vendor selection and management, staff management, limited financial management. The coordinator provides substantive technical guidance and training to attorneys, legal assistants, and others throughout all offices. The coordinator requires an in-depth understanding of the entire litigation support process including document scanning and coding, electronic discovery, database searching and reporting, transcript management, and trial support. The coordinator must also have a working knowledge of LAW 5.0, Relativity, Concordance, IPRO, and LiveNote.
Requirements
• Undergraduate degree from a 4 year college or university;
• Two years of experience with database management/administration;
• Significant working knowledge of litigation support applications;
• Proven ability to manage teams of up to three litigation support professionals;
• Proven ability to train and support end-users in Practice Support applications Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and goals;
• Ability to formally document procedures and policies as required by management;
• Experience with managing complex projects throughout the litigation life cycle.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Under the direction of the Practice Support Manager/Director and in conjunction with appropriate technical staff, assume responsibility for the delivery of litigation support projects and end-user support;
• Collect and document project requirements from attorneys and/or support staff;
• Process data in LAW and load into Relativity;
• Act as a consultant to attorneys and staff in the development, implementation and support of case automation needs;
• Assist Practice Support Manager/Director and team in development and testing of new applications and/or modification/upgrade of existing applications.
• Manage the selection and engagement of litigation support vendors;
