Information Technology Manager – NH – Manchester

Nelson, Kinder, Mosseau & Saturley, a successful civil litigation law firm with offices in Manchester and Boston seeks an IT Manager. Overview:

The IT Manager is responsible for the overall functionality, maintenance and performance of the firm's technology to meet the goals and objectives of the firm. The position supports a 70+ user Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 network with point to point connection between NH and Boston offices.

In addition to handling daily support issues, the IT Manager position provides leadership input into technology decisions and needs assessment including training, user policies, purchasing, upgrades, and new software evaluation. The IT Manager is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of general technology trends affecting law-firm automation and identify and evaluate new technology relevant to firm's objectives including litigation support. This position is part of the firm's Management Team.
 
Specific duties:

• Responsible for timely troubleshooting and daily maintenance of WAN and LAN technologies.

• Maintain telephone system

• Supports Exchange 2003

• Provides support and assist all firm employees with daily technology issues.

• Responsible for the design and implementation of effective ongoing technical training of firm personnel.

• Responsible for maintaining, providing guidelines, protocols and user policies to assure the functionality and integrity of the network related to security, redundancy, data backup, disaster planning and recovery, and user support.

• Maintains file servers, restore files as necessary and oversees back-up.

• Recommends the purchase of hardware and software to meet the firm's goal of being a leader in the use and application of technology.

• Maintains up to date inventory of technology and assist with forecasting and budgeting for future needs.

• Coordinates remote access to NKMS network system and services. Is 'on call' to answer questions and solve technology related problems with laptops, VPN, remote access, and PDAs for off-site attorneys and staff.

• Supports and manages the firm's custom applications and coordinates software enhancements and updates for the firms intranet, extranet, document management software, research resources and Website.

• Coordinates with outside professional technology experts when necessary to address NKMS needs. 

• Maintains good interpersonal relations and communications with lawyers and support staff.

• Works with the firm's Technology and Practice Management Committees and participates in Executive Committee meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of four years experience with network management
• Knowledge and experience working with Exchange 2003 and Active Directory, DNS, VPN, DHCP
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational  skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize issues, and problem solve
• Microsoft Office Applications (Microsoft Certification preferred)
• Cisco Experience
• WAN Video Conference Experience
• Familiarity with law firm environment and litigation support applications a plus

Sr Applications Analyst – Financial Systems – VA – Richmond

As a member of the firm's Enterprise Systems Group, the Financial Systems Analyst will serve as the primary systems administrator supporting the ADERANT Expert application life cycle and related financial systems applications and projects.  This is a hands-on technical role, but the ideal candidate will also support business analysts and financial specialists. The individual will report to the IT Senior Manager of Enterprise Applications, and will participate in project management, system installation and configuration, system interfaces, testing, documentation, operation/maintenance, and technical training and support. 

The person in this role will support the Business Intelligence (BI) initiative, using Microsoft SQL, Sharepoint & Excel Services to deliver transactional and multi-dimensional reports for finance users, attorneys and management.  The Aderant and BI Teams are charged with establishing a new financial reporting framework, dashboards, client portals, and related business processes to enhance the timeliness, clarity, and availability of financial information.  Preferred location is Richmond, Virginia. Other locations may be considered but must be willing to travel.

Specific Skills & Educational Requirements:
• Strong systems and data analytical skills
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Technical skills in support of financial analysis, including data extraction, transformation, dimensioning and presentation
• Understanding of general accounting and finance principals
• Ability to work with owners of the business data and transform business requirements into technical specs
• 3 or more years of experience administering Aderant, Elite, or similar ERP in a professional services firm
• 3 or more years MS Analysis Services SQL DB applications
• College degree or equivalent experience required.

Network Analyst – VA – Richmond

The Richmond, Virginia office of Hunton & Williams, LLP is actively recruiting for a Network Analyst to provide systems engineering, project and management technical support to the Information Center, Applications, and Computer Systems Operations departments as well as the System Administrators in other firm offices. Position will be responsible for managing system integration tasks and projects that impact the server, network and storage infrastructure.

Qualified candidates will possess a college degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.  A minimum of five years extensive Windows based PC experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and problem solving skills in a Local and Wide Area Network and computer systems operations environment is required. Experience and demonstrated knowledge of data communications concepts and issues (10/100/1000BASETX, DS3, VPN, etc.) desirable.  Experience with large Local and Wide Area Networks, VMware ESX/vSphere/SRM, Enterprise Storage (EMC, HP), Cisco fiber channel\Ethernet switch technology is desirable.  Certification of training with VMware, Microsoft, EMC, HP desirable.

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above.  Examples include:  ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions.  Visual acuity needed for transcription, extensive reading and input (typing) of information into computer.  Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication.  Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory.  Hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
