SUMMARY:
The Financial Systems Analyst's role is to plan, design, develop, launch and maintain efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for maintaining financial system health and implementing new solutions. This role also identifies financial system issues, generates reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of financial system investments.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning
· Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements, systems goals, and to identify and resolve systems issues.

· Lead prototyping of new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information processes.

· Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing financial systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

· Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.

Acquisition & Deployment
· Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.

· Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.

Operational Management
· Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas with financial systems.

· Create system design proposals.

· Maintain documentation and standards.

· Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

· Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.

· Install, configure, maintain, support, and upgrade all components of the financial systems.

· Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and engineers.

· Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.

· Coordinate with the accounting, networking, and development teams to accomplish goals.

· Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.

· Provide technical guidance and/or instruction to staff members.

· Coordinate and interface with vendors and solution providers as required.

· Monitor access and enforce standards related to vendor system access.

· Conduct and maintain backup and recovery procedures.

· Resolve issues with systems hardware and software.

· Provide 24x7 support.


EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Experience:

· Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.

· Working technical knowledge of financial systems and processes.

· Working knowledge of networking, operating systems, and system platforms including; IBM iSeries, Rippe Kingston, Whitehill, Equitrac, and Windows Server.

· Experience establishing and managing e-billing productions, systems and platforms (DataCert, Tymetrix, Serengeti).

· Working knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.

· Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.

· Extensive experience with core financial software applications, including e-billing systems.

· Proven experience in the operation, analysis and maintenance of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications.

· Demonstrated project management skills.

Education:

· College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and 8 years related work experience.
