We are seeking a highly motivated Help Desk Specialist to join our IT Team. The Help Desk Specialist is responsible for assisting approximately 300 end-users in the day-to-day use of software and hardware. Collaborates with other members of the IT Department in resolving specialized or complex problems. This position reports to the Technology Trainer & User Support Supervisor.

The position is part-time: 3 days per week, Monday (required), Wednesday (flexible, Tuesday or Thursday are ok) and Friday (required), 8 hours per day. We ask that the Help Desk Specialist be available to cover planned absences. The position is covered by benefits (health, retirement and time off.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Primary responsibility for answering Help Desk telephone during scheduled workday. Provides technical support to end-users to ensure excellent customer service results. Responds to end-user questions in a timely and professional manner.

• Primary responsibility for assisting end-users in troubleshooting and resolving problems and answering questions presented to the Help Desk. Responsible for researching and testing solutions to software, hardware, and PDA technical issues. Responsible for minor printer repairs and for coordinating printer repair vendor services when necessary.

• Coordinates user support efforts by directing complex or specialized problems to appropriate member of the IT Department team. Works in collaboration with other members of the IT Department to respond to, resolve, or answer complex or specialized requests, problems, and questions.

• Logs incidents into Help Desk database in a timely manner. Follows up to ensure that incidents are resolved and database records reflect resolution. Prepares and distributes Help Desk database reports.

• Maintains records of loaner pool of laptops, cell phones, PDAs, and projectors. Responsible for setting up loaner laptops and projectors and for provisioning loaner PDAs and cell phones.

• Works with Technology Trainer & User Support Supervisor to identify end-user training needs and coordinate and administer training schedules.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced technical training preferred. Experience: Technical training and/or equivalent experience. Law firm experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of Windows XP and Office XP (familiarity with Windows 7 and Office 2007 would be helpful but is not required.)

• Thorough knowledge of legal applications and legal document processing environment.

• Ability to become familiar with and knowledgeable about all other technology applications used or implemented by the firm.

• Demonstrated ability to interact with end users.

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills are essential.

Level: Works under moderate supervision. The Help Desk Specialist is sometimes required to work overtime as necessary and as approved.

Physical Demands: Extended periods of keyboard and mouse use required. Moderate lifting, moving and installation of equipment may be necessary.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, including moderate noise level, an indoor temperate environment, and light levels that are bright and conducive to minimal eye strain, typical for an office workstation environment.

Network Engineer – WV

WV-based regional law firm with 8 offices seeking experienced Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is part of the information technology team and is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the firm's multiple office wide area network and the servers contained in those offices.

Responsibilities:
• Provide second level support for all Outlook and Exchange Issues
• Test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems in all aspects of the firms WAN, LAN, Servers and Exchange systems
• Collaborate with internal and external constituents to create an efficient environment
• Network infrastructure administration and maintenance of routers, switches, WAN accelerators. 
• Exchange administration, including e-mail client access systems, Blackberry Enterprise Server and iAnywhere Server
• Administration and maintenance of Server Operating Systems (Windows Server 2003, 2008, SQL, etc.)
• Server physical hardware maintenance and upgrades
• Disaster recovery site administration and maintenance
• Network application engineering
• Backups and restores of firmwide servers

Skills/Requirements:
• Knowledge of Cisco equipment preferred
• Monthly after hours network maintenance
• Rotational 24 x 7 on-call duty
• Knowledge of Commvault preferred
• Degree in computer science preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience as a network engineer
