Security Engineer – CA – Los Angeles

An American Lawyer A-List firm based in Los Angeles is seeking a Security Engineer with a demonstrated ability to maintain a secure and resilient network on a large scale.  Successful candidates will have hands-on technical expertise, assist with network architecture and design and help support a variety of operational responsibilities in addition to the core responsibilities of this position.

Job Description:
• Conduct internal security assessments
• Communicate and prioritize security threat assessments to Firm management
• Respond to client security inquiries
• Troubleshoot application and network performance
• Support network and systems monitoring
• Develop budget and project proposals
• Stay current with technology and threats
• Maintain focus on desktop and server security
• Manage, tune and troubleshoot perimeter security systems
• Manage, tune and maintain remote access tools (e.g., F5, VPN, RSA and Citrix)
• Manage, tune and maintain wireless networks consistent with best practices
• Administer, monitor, and tune private P2P WAN to support multiple applications
• Analyze and troubleshoot VoIP and QoS problems in a fully converged network
• Use network analysis tools to monitor and shape traffic for optimum performance
• Research, recommend and implement additional systems or services, as required
• Plan and perform all routine network administration and maintenance
• Develop and maintain concise documentation related to responsibilities;

Absolute Requirements:
• 4-year college degree from accredited university;
• 5+ years experience managing large (500 user) networks;
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation capabilities
• CISSP or CCSP

Highly Desired Certifications
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
• CCNP, CCSP or CCDP (Cisco Certifiied Network/Design Professional)
• JNCIS (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist - Firewall/VPN)
• MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) with Security Specialization
• CCIE
• CCSA NGX or CCMSE NGX
• ACE or ACS or CCVP

Important Attributes
• Expert level experience with multiple protocols and transports, including: ARP, LDAP, SNMP, BGP, TLS, TCPIP, SMTP, DNS, NTP;
• Experience with Linux OS;
• Experience managing web filtering and monitoring solutions;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel to remote locations with little notice;
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and rotating on-call duties

Support Analyst I – IL – Chicago

Overview:
Provide technical support to Seyfarth Shaw LLP staff and attorneys on a wide range of technologies, while being responsible for prompt resolution of those incidents reported.

Duties
• Troubleshoot issues from in-bound telephone calls within the Chicago office.
• Use of incident management system to properly document and escalate issues as they are reported
• Proactive learning of current, and newly released applications
• Collaborate within the larger IT support team, as well as extended IT organization to ensure the highest level of customer support and resolution.

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of general IT support experience in a professional environment
• Experience with Windows XP, and Microsoft Office within a professional services organization
• Knowledge and support of various mobile email devices (Blackberry, Palm, Windows Mobile, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of hardware (desktop/laptop) deployment methods using an image deployment tool (Altiris, Ghost, etc.)
• Ability to utilize and troubleshoot web-based applications

Soft Skill Requirements
• High level of customer service orientation a must
• Ability to handle conflict, and difficult situations within a technical and customer support environment
• Effective communication abilities to all levels of personnel
• Ability to adapt to changing technology and the applications of, within a professional services organization

Preferred
• Technical experience within the Legal industry, as well as support experience with a Document Management System DMS, CarpeDiem, Citrix, as well as other legal applications.
• Certifications a plus (A+, Network +, etc.)
• Bachelors degree, or comparable experience preferred.

Help Desk Specialist – OH – Cleveland

- Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, a large Ohio law firm, has an opening in our Cleveland office for a Help Desk Specialist.  This position serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting various hardware, software, and printer problems.  Provides first level Help Desk phone and in person support to end users on a variety of issues involving applications and hardware.

Primary responsibilities include phone, email and desk side user support to identify, research, track, monitor and resolve technical problems.  Participate in upgrades and assist in determining training objectives as well as testing documentation created by others in IT to ensure quality and accuracy.  Work on special projects as assigned, including software review and evaluation when required.

General Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel and management.
• Ability to prioritize calls as well as escalate calls and follow-up when necessary.
• Effectively communicate with IT managers and IT personnel any significant problems, delays in resolving identified issues, and recognize trends in calls.
• Must be able to work independently and also as a member of the IT department and provide essential information to appropriate managers and other firm staff.
• Demonstrate a commitment to provide exceptional customer service and support to all personnel and interest in learning new technologies.

Technical Skills/Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of Help Desk experience (law firm experience is strongly preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office Suite XP (focusing on Word and Outlook).
• Experience with Worldox enterprise document management software or other enterprise document management software, Workshare Professional (metadata removal and redline software), Elite Enterprise and Carpe Diem (time and billing software).
• Experience with Active Directory to manage user setup and changes to user accounts.
• Knowledge of Track-It or other Help Desk tracking software and ability to publish resolutions and maintain the IT knowledgebase.
• Experience with troubleshooting Blackberry problems.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practice, and procedures.
