Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010Nossaman is looking to hire a bright and highly motivated professional to join our talented I.T. team as Network Administrator for our Los Angeles office. This is a key position that involves supporting and maintaining the I.T. infrastructure as well as providing first-line support to users of all levels. Working under the general direction of the local Information Systems Manager, the position provides ample opportunity to gain experience in areas ranging from discrete user problems to the development and roll-out of Firmwide initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
• Installs, upgrades, and troubleshoots networks, hardware devices and software;
Configuration of desktops, laptops, and printers for new and existing users under established protocols;
• Setup and troubleshoot Firm PDA devices and respond to user requests for information and assistance;
• Coordinate and perform server backups and recovery, patch deployment, configuration and monitoring;
• Assists with preparation for attorney and client meetings by set-up and testing of audio-visual, conferencing and presentation equipment;
• Responds to user questions and requests for assistance, including remote and after-hours assistance, as needed;
• Provide general support to the IT Department on Firmwide issues, including rollouts and user support; and
• Performs such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned.
Experience and Other Requirements
• Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience, preferably in a law office or similar professional setting;
• Associate's degree in computer sciences or equivalent experience required; bachelor's degree preferred;
• Solid working knowledge of basic hardware, Windows and networking issues, including prior experience supporting, implementing and/or administering computer networks;
• Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail;
• Must be able to work well both independently and as part of a team and share information appropriately while safeguarding confidential material;
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
• Ability to handle multiple requests and assignments and effectively prioritize among competing demands; and
• Strong client service orientation and commitment to providing first-rate support to users at every level of the organization.

User Support Specialist – FL – Ft. Lauderdale

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced User Support Specialist for our Florida office. The User Support Specialist should have at least two (2) years of user support or related experience.
The User Support Specialist provides technical support to PC users, assists with new desktop hardware developments, telephone and voicemail setup, and loaner laptop and PDA distributions, as well as the following duties:
• Promptly answers calls from users regarding questions or troubleshooting the following representative issues (partial list): application functionality/usability; problems with applications; hardware problems (defective monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU or other component); printing problems, network access problems; software installation requests; PC/laptop upgrade requests; loaner laptop requests; loaner PDA requests.
• Provide basic training on various applications needed.
• Enter all support requests into helpdesk database.
• Assist with imaging and deployment of new PCs and laptops.
• Assist with setup and distribution of attorney loaner PDAs. Includes overall procedures, inventory maintenance and record keeping.
• Assist with setup support of telephone and voicemail systems and user accounts. May contact vendor(s) regarding repairs or troubleshooting.
• Provide status reports, via email or in person, to supervisor and/or Director of Administration regarding assigned projects, system status and requests for equipment, supplies or other resources.
• May be required to attend trials or other legal proceedings to provide presentation or other technical services.
• Special projects as assigned or requested.
Experience and Education:
• Minimum two years of user support or related experience. Law firm experience preferred.
• College degree, technical certifications or equivalent work experience.
Qualifications:
• Thorough knowledge of desktop PC, laptop, PDA, and printer, Citrix and remote access configurations in a networked environment.
• Fundamental knowledge of network server and communications hardware, cabling topology and operating system software.
• Ability to provide basic user training on firm wide systems and applications.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.
• Able to work overtime and on-call as needed.
