We currently seek a talented and experienced Temporary User Support Analyst for our IT Department. Don't miss the opportunity to work for an exciting and dynamic law firm located in the heart of the Penn Quarter.

Overview of Responsibilities:
• Resolves incoming telephone requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer related technologies.
• Analyzes and resolves problems according to shifting priorities, time frames and resources, as well as documenting resolutions in call tracking system.
• Effectively documents all support calls into Helpdesk ticketing system and, if necessary, escalates calls to proper internal or external support person. Monitors progress through resolution.
• Monitors support activity and informs team/manager of any perceived trends, positive or negative, in calls being received and/or solutions being employed.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of relevant products, current support policies, and methods of support delivery. Participates in the development and implementation of procedural changes.
• Participates in the implementation of special projects as requested.
• Consistently models the highest levels of client service orientation and professionalism.
• Continually improves technical proficiency through research, self-training and participation in internal and external training opportunities.
• Continually improves client service through diligent, thoughtful and timely execution of support requests.
• Participates in the after-hours pager rotation, providing on-call 24x7 technical support.
• Participates in the rotation of monitoring and resolving of voicemail and email requests.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have strong personal computer skills including hardware, operating system and software knowledge.
• Experience working with and supporting Office 2003/2007 Suite and Windows XP/Windows 7.
• Through knowledge of Legal Applications (Interwoven, Elite, ChangePro, Deltaview, etc.).
• Must have strong oral, interpersonal and written communications skills, and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong customer service focus combined with excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have sound negotiation skills and be able to develop and maintain effective business relationships.
• Must work well independently and in a team environment, demonstrating significant initiative and self-motivation.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing less than 50 lbs.

Required Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; a concentration in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
• 3-5 years of related legal technical support experience.

Desktop Engineering Manager – MA – Boston

Job Summary: The Desktop Engineering Manager supervises and maintains the organization's repository of software applications through best practices and the appropriate staffing and management of a technical team. The Desktop Engineering Manager is also responsible for planning and coordinating the processes required for the provision of user applications and systems necessary for business operations. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the team on issues related to the integration and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems.

In addition to overseeing the daily operations of the Desktop Engineering, the Desktop Engineering Manager serves as a member of the IT management team in the allocation of resources, facilities, and personnel to multiple programs and projects.  Collaboration with other IT managers in the development of the Firm's strategic, tactical and operational plans for information technology is a key element in this role.  Working closely with vendors and integrators in the delivery of desktop hardware, operating systems and integrated software applications in a securely structured environment is required.

Principal Responsibilities: Evaluation and deployment of desktop computing functions including, but not limited to, the PC, it's operating system, security patches, login routines, along with deployment, integration, and updates to both mandatory and optional desktop software applications.  Maintenance and troubleshooting of desktop PCs, printers, PDAs and all supported desktop software.  Delegate projects and activities for the Desktop Engineering and Desktop support teams. implement new processes and software to ensure both groups are highly productive and making optimal use of technology.  Assist in the fiscal year budgeting process for associated hardware and software.  Mentor Desktop Engineering support team as needed.  Project management.

Job Requirements: BS degree in Computer Science.  8-10 years related experience.  In-depth understanding of all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, including servers.  Working knowledge of programming language(s) that can be used for the automation of tasks and software  deployments.  Strong management, communication, analytical and troubleshooting skills.  Working knowledge of SQL or similar database technology highly desired.
