Application Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Information Technology Department has an opening for an Application Developer in the Washington, DC Office. The Applications Developer is responsible for the design and development of custom applications, and integration with purchased applications to provide automated solutions for the administrative teams, practice groups and senior management of the Firm. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Executing necessary design and programming to integrate existing and new applications and systems, as needed, using .Net, SharePoint, SQL server and business process management software; interacting with end-users to identify, develop and document business requirements and transform those requirements into applications and related process requirements; developing and documenting data, process, and object models that support the business and application requirements; transforming all requirements into an application platform solution design; developing and testing applications and related components such that they meet the design specifications; developing data migration and/or data population procedures for initial data load and ongoing data maintenance; working with trainers, as needed, to develop end-user training for applications; and developing production implementation procedures and work with other IT groups to migrate applications to production environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of seven years' applications development experience.
• Minimum of five years' developing in the .Net web-based applications.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in analysis of user requirements, design and preparation of detailed processing and programming specifications, development of complex workflow and web applications.
• Good understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and programming experience, preferably using Microsoft development tools.
• Strong knowledge of C#, .NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, and Visual Studio 2008.
• Experience in the design and implementation of database applications, logical and physical database modeling.
• Experience in stored procedures, queries, reports and system enhancements to applications using SQL and ODBC.
• Experience with MS SQL Server 2005 or higher and MS SQL Reporting Services.
• Knowledge of developing applications using SharePoint Services 3.0 and MOSS 2007.
• Knowledge of Web Services, .Net Framework 3.5, Windows Workflow Foundation, Security Vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge and use of AJAX, XML, XSLT , CSS, JavaScript, HTML.
• Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary including weekends and holidays.
• Microsoft Certified DBA certification preferred.
• Microsoft Certified Solution Developer or equivalent certification preferred.

Local IT Coordinator – FL – Tampa

Akerman Senterfitt, a premier national law firm, is seeking an IT Coordinator to be based in our Tampa office.  Reporting to the Director of Information Resources and the Tampa Office Administrator, the candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day support and guidance to end-users at the local office.  Additional responsibilities will include local office administrative functions as needed.

We require a minimum of 3 years of experience with computers, including troubleshooting, installing new equipment, and loading software.  Experience within a law firm setting is desired and a bachelors degree is preferred.  The ability to work independently and manage time and tasks in a productive team environment are essential.  Strong IT skills (Windows XP, MS Office, and LAN Technology) are required.  Qualified candidates must have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment under strict deadlines.
