Senior Technology Professional Development Specialist (Trainer) – DC – Washington

Under the general supervision and direction of the Director of Training and Document Support Services, and following prescribed department, office and firm procedures, the Senior Technology Professional Development Specialist (Trainer) is responsible for providing training and support to end users and internal IS staff to improve their technical knowledge and skills related to supporting the firm's strategic business goals.  Essential duties and responsibilities include training personnel on the basic and advanced functions of the core and specialized legal applications used by the firm using such methods as online group and one-on-one training, in person group instruction, and demonstrations when necessary; identifying educational requirements by working with the Professional Development team, local IS, analyzing help desk reports, and classroom feedback; maintaining scheduling and attendance with the Firm Training Scheduler; customizing training programs as necessary for international office personnel; developing and maintaining training materials related to the training of applications and systems used by the firm including eLearning solutions; assisting in the testing and documentation of applications and settings for new systems and software.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), Internet Explorer, document management systems, portal applications and operating systems used by the firm; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with attorneys and staff in a non-technical manner; and the ability to use distance learning technologies to effectively deliver training.

Availability for travel and a minimum of 5 years of relevant training experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment, are required.  MOS certification preferred.

QA Software Analyst – TX – Dallas

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated person to join our QA team.  Position interacts closely with developers so must be knowledgeable in a variety of technical areas.  An independent, self-starter is required.

Primary duties will be to evaluate and test new and modified software to verify programs function according to design requirements and conform to established guidelines.  In addition, you will design and execute manual test cases, write test plans, and maintain test results utilizing bug tracking software.

Job Functions

• Perform black box testing, performance testing, and quality assurance for the company's Accounting, Time & Billing, and Practice Management Related Software applications for Law Firms/Legal Industry   
• Develop and maintain detailed test plans for existing and new product modules
• Ensure functionality and look & feel standards across software modules
• Work very closely with other QA staff
• Help implementation and support staff, as needed, in resolving client issues for various product modules
• Provide training and assistance to the company's clients, as necessary

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Professional Experience, preferably in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field, desired
• 2+ Years Manual Experience in QA testing of Windows & Web based client/server applications  +++ We do not utilize automation software +++
• Functional knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and MS Office
• Working knowledge of SQL - database structure and query language
• Experience working with transaction processing systems
• Ability to work on multiple, diverse projects simultaneously; multi-tasking is a must
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented
• Team-Player
• Ability to learn new technology as newer products are developed

SQL Administrator – MO – St. Louis

- Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, is seeking an experienced Server & SQL Database Administrator to work in our Information Technology department.  This position will provide support for all server systems and hardware as well as handle a variety of general IT tasks. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years experience administering both a multi-SQL server environment and a Microsoft-based server environment, and possess a strong technical background with Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003/2008, Microsoft SQL, Visual Basic, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory 2003 structures.  Experience with  Open Text, Thomson Elite and VMWare VSphere systems are a plus. This position will assist in the ongoing development and implementation of the database and server environment and procedures with other IT team members.  Additional responsibilities will include assisting Helpdesk staff, desktop and application support and special IT projects as needed. Previous employment in a professional services firm is preferred. Normal working hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but additional hours will be required and the position requires on-call duty to ensure that systems are operational on a 24x7 basis.
