Reporting to the Director of Applications, the Desktop Manager has overall responsibility to manage the desktop software and remote desktop integration, certification, deployment and release management of software & patches for 4700 desktops.  Ideally, this position may be located in GT's Phoenix office or Doral (Miami) office.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Work with the guidance of the Director of Applications for continuous improvement of a Software and Data Architecture Framework
• Successfully interact with Quality Assurance resources to enable them to appropriately test desktop applications and images, and provide meaningful feedback to improve systems and processes
• Coordinate with the technical support department to ensure that they are able to appropriately support end users on the desktop and remote platforms
• Work with individual office IT resources on developing and maintaining a consistent desktop image across the organization
• Coach and develop co-workers to achieve goals and objectives
• Supervise staff selection, performance appraisals, assist with training and development, and oversee operational functions of the desktop team
• Use metrics and data driven decision making to arrive at correct tactical decisions and improve process
• Interact with users, functional peer groups, vendors and management
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
• Manage large and complex projects including identifying key objectives, risks, and drivers and creating plans to manage those elements
• Responsible for analyzing initiatives to estimate impact to organization, time to complete, and resources necessary in order to provide the optimal solution
• Prioritize work based on impact and importance
• Ability to learn about and adapt to new functions, products, and technologies, keeping abreast of technology and business innovation
• Understand and familiar with the budgeting process

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, 7-10 years of experience in desktop management and application support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Five years management experience leading and managing a desktop software integration team.  Brings leadership, conviction, perspective, consistency of approach and quality to the job.  Solid knowledge of Microsoft core technologies, desktop applications and infrastructure.  Knowledge and experience with desktop management systems.  Preferred experience with multiple law firm applications. Solid knowledge of remote desktop applications. Preferred experience with application and/or desktop virtualization technologies. Proven ability to take initiative in new or challenging situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work flexible hours as needed.  Comfortable interacting in a fast-paced and demanding law firm environment. Responsibilities
Base in any one of our US offices, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director of Application Management has overall responsibility for application development, all deployment and maintenance activities, desktop software management, programming resources and web development. In addition, the individual will provide strong architecture insight and assist in defining and driving the implementation of an efficient and flexible enterprise architecture as the firm consolidates its current technologies while accommodating growth.   This senior director position within the IT organization will interact closely with all internal groups and operations, and will play a key role in helping to transform the organization to meet the needs of a growing business. The Director Application Management must have a demonstrated history of structured methodology and metrics-based management and delivery. The role will have responsibility for managing a portion of the overall IT Operating Budget and have input on IT Strategy. The person in this position needs to be a driver and enabler of business process and IT re-engineering by establishing solid partnerships across the business to implement an integrated system strategy to deliver improved business efficiency and productivity.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Manage multiple teams and deliver new application development initiatives, augment package installations and maintain and enhance existing systems
• Formulate the firm's business systems architecture plans, assess cost, business case justification and feasibility of system requests and ensure the plan supports both strategic and tactical needs, in partnership with all business units. Assist in defining the overall enterprise architecture and IT strategy
• Direct the design, implementation and continuous improvement of a Software and Data Architecture Framework
• Ensure an appropriate application development lifecycle is developed, documented and deployed across the Application Management organization and aligned with other IT areas
• Support the CIO in conceptualizing, managing, integrating and coordinating overall IT direction and strategies that support and compliment business strategies and objectives
• Manage, coach and direct application management, remote desktop, web development, programming, and desktop software managers and team members, coordinating across all of the firm's application delivery and maintenance activities
• Responsible for all related management functions for staff including hiring, terminating, mentoring, performance management, development and training
• Establish strategies, procedures, processes and a culture that leads to the overall highest user satisfaction
• Collaborate with internal vendor management and the Executive Director of IT Operations to define service levels for vendors and industry consultants
• Working with the Project Management Office, IT Governance Board, and  Planning groups helps to: 
      * Ensure that major project activities, milestones and deliverables are tracked and progress to goals are accurately reported
      * Support IT governance and portfolio management activities
      * In conjunction with the CIO, develop and enforce Performance Measurement systems and practices to measure the effectiveness and value of application management activities and other IT investments
• Serves as escalation and communication point for risk, issue and change management

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.  10+ years of experience in Applications Development, Information Technology and / or Information Systems Leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have 7-10 years experience in supporting enterprise business applications with at least 5 years of management experience leading and managing a business applications group with development responsibilities. The candidate will have a successful history and sustained track record of delivering high-quality solutions on-time and on-budget. He/she must demonstrate a strong competency in creating an environment that fosters accountability, quality, commitment, growth, and innovation.  Proven success leveraging technology to meet business objectives.   Working knowledge of traditional and agile development methodologies and how/when to apply them, including release and change management activities. Broad technology experiences, including complex systems integration, infrastructure, and application roadmap expertise. Prefer experience with Aderant and MS SQL Server.  Demonstrated ability to concurrently develop, lead, and motivate multiple application development teams. Project Portfolio Management and resource planning experience. Creative, entrepreneurial approach to technology possibilities with flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to change in a dynamic law firm environment. Significant hands-on development and leadership in data warehouse environments.  Results-oriented individual with strong problem-solving, influencing, consensus building and negotiating skills.  Articulate and persuasive verbal and written communications skills. The Phoenix office of Greenberg Traurig is seeking an Active Directory / Systems Administrator responsible for architecture, operations, security and maintenance of Active Directory, Windows servers and related systems in a large, multi-national organization. This includes Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, Windows 2003/2008 server OS and overall security administration of these systems.
 
Responsibilities and Experience
• Must have expert knowledge and 7+ years of experience administering Active Directory in a Microsoft Windows 2003 / 2008 environment, excellent knowledge of networking using TCP/IP in a large, multi-office WAN environment.
• Must possess ability to implement hardening of the server infrastructure in appropriate server roles; be familiar with security issues related to Windows servers and their component; and Group/Security policies in an enterprise network environment.
• Must have thorough understanding of Active Directory DC design, Schema, OU design, AD replication topology, and DC backup/restore procedures; excellent working knowledge of DNS, GPO's, Message tracking and performance; and detailed knowledge/design experience of AD, including understanding of MS Sites and Services, DNS, Group Policies, WSUS, and at least an overall understanding of Exchange integration within AD.
• Must have extensive experience in securing, hardening and monitoring Windows servers and other Internet facing devices.
• Must have extensive experience with low-level diagnostic tools such as LDP, ADSIEdit, NTDSUtil, REPLMON and NLTest.
• Must have good scripting skills in VBScript and/or Powershell.
• Must have extensive experience using network monitoring / analyzer tools such as Wireshark, NMAP and /or MS Network monitor.
We are seeking someone with 7 - 10 years overall experience in a large network environment.  Microsoft and/or security certifications are a plus.  Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as good documentation skills are required. Occasional travel required.
