Litigation Support Data Coordinator – FL – Orlando or Miami

- Akerman Senterfitt, a premier national law firm, is seeking a Litigation Support Data Coordinator to be based in our Orlando or Miami office.  Reporting to the Litigation Support Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and preservation of litigation support data.  These responsibilities include processing discovery data for the Firm's litigation support databases, ensuring quality control of data and images from vendors, and tracking all incoming and outgoing litigation discovery data.

We require 1-2 years of experience in electronic discovery data processing within a law firm setting and a bachelors degree is preferred.  This position also requires knowledge of the litigation process and the use of technology to support litigation and e-discovery efforts, including Summation, Concordance, CaseSoft products, and trial presentation software (preferably Trial Director).  Qualified candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment under strict deadlines.

Information Processing Operator (2 positions) – CA – Orange County

Full-time Graveyard Shift Available:
Hours: Friday - Tuesday, 12:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Part-time Second Shift Available:
Hours: Sunday 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Hours: Monday - Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.

Job Summary:  Responsible for processing a wide variety of complex legal documents and performing word processing duties including:  new input; document editing and formatting; transcription; preparation of table of contents and tables of authorities; PDF to Word conversions; spreadsheet editing and formatting; editing and animation of slide presentations.  Candidate joins a global services information processing team with a focus on expert work product and first-class customer service. 

Qualifications:  Qualified candidates must have excellent customer service skills; good organization skills; the ability to work in a centralized environment providing remote support to all offices worldwide; strong attention to detail; and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Education:  High school diploma.  College degree preferred. 

Experience:  Candidates must have experience in a large law firm environment with a broad understanding of legal terminology; effective communication skills both written and oral; the ability to organize and prioritize work as assigned; and remain calm under deadline pressure.  Candidate must possess a minimum of 5-7 years experience working as a full-time operator in a legal word processing department; and expert level skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.

Our Firmwide Information Services Department has an excellent opportunity for an Applications Specialist in our Chicago office.   Main responsibilities include the following:

• Design, develop, customize, document, analyze and test software application tools to enhance the usability of the Firm's core PC applications suite as well as practice area specific applications. 
• Participate with Firm upgrade from Microsoft  Office 2003 to Office 2010.
• Integrate and implement standardized and customized software. Create and implement innovative delivery methodologies appropriate to the audience. 
• Assist with the installation, maintenance and upgrades of software for all users within the Firm. Assist with the setting of standards for all Firm software.
• Resolve end-user application/software problems at a Tier 3 level.
• Participate on project teams consisting of internal and external resources. Work on various concurrent projects, many of which must move at a pace driven by the clients' transaction and case related events.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and five years experience in the IT field (three years minimum in a support role) or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Legal experience highly preferred.
• Microsoft Office 2007 experience required (rollout/upgrade preferred).
• Extensive experience with Autonomy (Interwoven) Document Management System with Matter Centricity, Adobe Acrobat Standard/Professional, Document Template package preferred.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Visual Basic for Applications, XML, and other application integration concepts and technologies is a plus. 
• Excellent customer service, leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
