Technical Analyst – GA – Atlanta

Alston & Bird is conducting a search for a Technical Analyst in our Case Support Center to work the hours of 10:00-6:30. This position will perform a variety of database support duties, which includes assisting attorneys and paralegals in case automation, design and structure. Test, maintain, and support litigation and other databases providing support to users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Facilitate ongoing communication with case teams to fulfill client needs
•Design databases
•Assist in identifying specific automation requirements for projects
•Media preparation and quality control of data.
•Creation of hyperlink briefs and closing binders.
•Import transcripts provided by court reporters into Concordance or Livenote.
•Troubleshooting and correcting errors within Concordance and Ipro
•Reformat and import information from various sources (spreadsheets, text files, etc.) into Concordance.
•Prepare, load, re-index and test database additions and revisions.
•Load processed data into appropriate application.
•Assist Sr. Technical Analyst with monitoring and maintaining current active case load.
•Monitor and stay current with industry standards, procedures, and documentation for the methodologies used by Case Support.
•After hours coverage as assigned.
•Additional duties required by case needs

REQUIRED SKILLS: Proficient in Concordance, Ipro, Summation, PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to express self effectively, both verbal and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships throughout the Firm and with outside contacts. Strong command of the English language legal and technical terminology. Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing workload. Time management skills, sense of urgency. Strong understanding of the EDRM model.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired during four years of high school. A minimum of a four-year bachelors degree in computer science or information systems is preferred. Previous experience of 4 or more years of litigation support experience in a law firm or corporation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the End User Support Analyst you will provide software and hardware support for attorneys and staff through troubleshooting and project participation. Present technology-related training. Collaborate closely with others in firm wide and office-based Technology Services groups, attorneys, staff, and vendors. Ensure client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.

QUALIFICATIONS
1) College level course work in Information Systems Technology preferred. 2) Five years PC experience with hardware and software knowledge. Understanding of LAN/WAN and server concepts. 3) Strong knowledge of Windows OS required. In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. 4) Relevant and recent certification strongly desired. 5) Law firm or professional services experience preferable. 6) Skill to assess issues and needs and to provide responsive solutions. A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and interactions. 7) Talent for creating client satisfaction; demonstrated ability to focus on the client value in all work. 8) Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively. 9) Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions. 10) High comfort level with sometimes stressful client requirements. 11) Ability to follow instructions with high degree of accuracy. 12) Technical aptitude and understanding, including ability to quickly learn new applications. 13) Ability to apply effective independent judgment. 14) Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize work, and work within competing deadlines. 15) Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines. 16) Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly. 17) Availability to work overtime; flexibility regarding work schedule. 18) Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

As a Managing Director you are a Firm leader who has mastered the skills and requirements of the Principal role and has demonstrated a capacity to take on greater responsibilities. A Managing Director is likely to be a subject matter expert or client service expert, and assumes overall responsibilities in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: engagement management & client service, sales, practice development, marketing, cross selling, discipline & industry expertise, external activities & networking, leadership, people development, and strategic business planning.

• Must have Bachelor’s in Accounting, CPA (or other designations) eligible
• Master’s in Accounting or Finance or MBA is preferred
• 10+ years in relevant position
• Public accounting preferred
• Must be a CPA or have other accreditations
• Must maintain required CPE credits annually
• May possibly have other industry or specialization certification
