Applications Support Manager – LA – New Orleans

This position is responsible for definition of customer requirements, development of solutions and application administration. The position provides second level Helpdesk support for all software applications used by the firm and has overall responsibility for server based application installation, support, administration, maintenance and development.
Requirements
Responsibilities
• Support all databases including SQL Server 2000 and 2005
• Database support for commercial 3rd party systems
• Code, test, and implement stored procedures to support application requirements.
• Support bulk data migration tasks.
• Improve / maintain database/index performance and analyze performance anomalies.
• Troubleshoot database issues, identify root causes, and implement optimal solutions.
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of SQL server backups
• Support database/web integration when needed
Qualifications:
5 Years of progressive experience with SQL 2000/2005 system platforms (MCDBA a plus), IIS and Internet portals.
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to relate well to all levels of customers.
Excellent team-building and collaborative skills.
Ability to lead and supervise application development projects and teams.
Strong documentation skills.
Proven problem solving ability.
Legal experience a plus.

IT Training & Development Specialist – MA – Boston

The IT Training & Development Specialist organizes, designs and conducts training for staff and lawyer personnel within the firm. The IT Training Specialist provides a wide range of technical coursework focused on supporting core applications within the firm. This resource also plays a critical support role in the firm wide roll-out of IT related projects.
In addition, the Training Specialist coordinates and provides support for learning programs. This may include support of agents on the Help Desk or individual coaching sessions for staff or lawyers. The Specialist is also responsible for developing written documentation (manuals and quick reference guides) about the organizations computing systems that aid in their development, use and support.
The Specialist should be a seasoned trainer with moderate classroom experience.
This position is assigned to the User Support & IT Training Team and takes day-to-day direction from the Sr. Manager of User Support & IT Training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Deliver training programs including development, delivery, implementation and evaluation for New Hire and other IT Training programs offered at the firm.
* Class management responsibility for a group of participants. This includes, but is not limited to, motivating participants, maintaining control of the class, and directing the learning of participants to meet program objectives.
* Ensure that all aspects of classroom set-up and administration are met. (ex: registration, confirmations, material prep, room scheduling, video conferencing, etc)
* Designs and develops on-line learning modules to support instructor led programs or other initiatives within IT (ex: User Support FAQ's)
* Works closely with IT and business units to determine training needs * Participate in the development of instructional and participant materials including objectives, training documentation, visual aids, testing, training instruments and course handouts. Provide feedback regarding effectiveness and ease of use.
* Prepares activity and progress reports regarding training activities
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Bachelors degree and a minimum 5 years of training related experience
* Microsoft certification in the Office Suite at core and/or master level or proven work experience and subsequent certification within two years of employment
* Proven experience with adult learning principles, methodologies and course design techniques
* Strong coaching and counseling skills ability to influence others to take action and achieve objectives.
* Proven presentation/platform skills.
* Ability to work both independently or collaboratively, producing all assigned work while adhering to deadlines.
* Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques, and roles & responsibilities in providing technical training and guidance
* Knowledge of and experience with the design and development of training programs, activities and documentation based upon training needs analysis
* Experience with on-line training & development a plus
* Experience with staff development in the area of technical training
* Excellent documentation skills and keen attention to detail
* Understanding of the Legal profession or prior experience working in a Law Firm

Financial Systems Manager – PA – Philadelphia
Thursday, March 25th, 2010Cozen O'Connor, a 550 attorney firm in downtown Philadelphia is seeking a seasoned Financial Systems Manager. This position will report to the CFO and will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and the smooth operation of the Elite database system.
Essential Job Functions:
- serves as internal project manager for all future Elite-related projects;
- assists with the creation of high level project plans and contributes to the decision making process including design, settings, configuration, interconnections, and best practices for process improvement;
- serves as gatekeeper for all Elite consulting work and manages the process by conceptualizing the design, monitoring the progress, and testing the final product;
- ensures the overall health and security of the Elite system by maintaining user access setups;
- monitors the consistent application of system patches (DLLs);
- files and resolves support cases with Elite;
- provides training support within the Finance Department for new products or processes;
- provides end user support;
- designs and generates reports used to analyze data, report results, balance the system, and/or troubleshoot problems.
Technical Skill Requirements:
Strong database skills in general with a strong background in Elite specifically;
Expertise writing complex SQL statements
Proven report writing skills such as with Crystal;
Demonstrated success in project management
Behavioral Skill Requirements:
The Financial Systems Manager will need to work independently to fulfill our needs and so must be comfortable performing tasks within a broad skill set level.
A consultative nature is required because his/her "customers" will range from internal staff with little technical knowledge to outside product experts who understand their products' technology but not our business needs.
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service mindset.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or a business-related discipline
Minimum of 10 years experience with Elite
Familiarity with a BI tool would be helpful but not required.
