Major Purpose:
To provide analytic and forensic support to Enforcement reviews and investigations, and specialized technical support to Enforcement litigation staff.
Essential Job Functions:
• Actively assist with Enforcement investigations by leveraging forensic technology into the investigative process.
• Participate in Enforcement investigations by assisting the investigative staff with requests for electronic discovery, data analysis, database design, data retrieval from various enterprise databases, and analysis of electronic information recovered in the course of investigations or litigation.
• Assist in negotiating production of electronic information from member firms and their counsel.
• Assist with the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Enforcement litigation support systems, provide ongoing support to Department personnel on all aspects of the Department's forensic and litigation support computing environment; serve as a technical resource for special technology projects involving litigation support and analytic or forensic investigative tools.
• Assist in the maintenance of Enforcements forensic equipment and software.
• Assist in the presentation of evidence electronically at FINRA hearings.
• Candidate must be able to handle a deadline driven, diverse workload of multiple concurrent tasks.
• Responsibilities may include: Assisting in the administration of hardware and software for a staff of over 200 at 15 locations, including assisting when necessary in ordering, tracking, coordinating delivery, repairs and installations; and assisting in keeping Enforcement staff informed via email and at staff meetings about forensic and litigation support issues.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Business (preferably Finance or Accounting), Information Systems, or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience, and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. Requires demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, VBScript, Oracle and/or Microsoft SQLServer, and Microsoft Office Professional. Knowledge of one or more of the following a definite plus: Summation, Concordance, Sanction II, iManage.
Experience with litigation support systems, and document scanning systems a plus. Investigative experience or experience in law enforcement, audit, or legal environments is a strong plus.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in a business office setting. Duties may require occasional lifting and moving of computer hardware and monitors. Duties may require occasional travel.
