I am currently looking for an position in litigation support, trial support or as a videographer in the south Florida area. My expertise includes litigation support, trial consultation, courtroom technician, videographer, presentation development, paralegal, and strong audio/visual and computer skills. I am knowledgeable of the litigation support process, trial procedures, discovery, document production and management. Application Support Analyst – ON – Toronto

- Codan (Canada) Inc., as Technology Services provider for off-shore law firm Conyers Dill and Pearman, is recruiting for an Application Support Analyst in our Toronto office, reporting to the Application Support lead.  The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with the support and maintenance of enterprise applications, primarily the Firm's billing and financial systems, enterprise reporting, customer relationship management system and related technologies, and in-house developed applications.   This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate to join a dynamic and growing Technology Services team.

Essential Job Functions:

• Monitor vendor and industry bulletins for any known vulnerabilities and bug fixes
• Provide advanced user support for application issues, including coordinating and working with vendors when necessary
• Create and maintain relevant application support guides in coordination with the Infrastructure group
• Work with Infrastructure to establish and maintain proper monitoring and server performance tweaking
• Gather and understand user requirements in coordination with the Service Management group
• Work with the Precedents lawyer and Service Management group to ensure that requirements are implemented consistent Technology Services norms
• Manage user expectations
• Participate in any projects related to enterprise applications
• Coach the Service Desk on first level application support for enterprise applications
• Implement application changes in the Dev, UAT and Production application environments, and work with Service Management to coordinate UAT
• Create and maintain a positive relationship with the Firm's user community and Technology Services colleagues
• Other duties as assigned by the Application Support lead

Employment Conditions:

• Work with minimal supervision
• The ability to travel occasionally to other offices (very limited)
• Ability to manage risk with sound decision making

A qualified candidate will have:

• 5+ years law firm experience
• A solid understanding of technology requirements in the legal industry
• Strong SQL database skills (2000 or 2005)
• The qualities of a self-starter - Able to identify and resolve incidents and problems without constant supervision
• The ability to travel occasionally to other offices (limited and scheduled in advance)
• A strong sense of ownership and drive
• A bachelor of computer science or business, or equivalent work experience

A qualified candidate would benefit from having:

• A history of continuing education through industry groups, courses and seminars
• Experience supporting Elite Enterprise and related products
• Experience supporting legal document management systems such as iManage
• Experience supporting LexisNexis InterAction
• Experience with or knowledge of enterprise reporting tools such as SSRS and Crystal Reports
• SharePoint business user training
