We currently have an opening in our Toronto office for a full-time Document Management System (DMS) Specialist in our Information Services department (Application Services group).
The DMS Specialist is the primary support person for the firm's document management system (Autonomy iManage) for internal and external clients. The DMS Specialist provides strategic recommendations for the document management system and database applications, based on in depth analysis of business needs and industry trends.
This role will:
• carry out advanced data maintenance routines;
• perform day-to-day systems administration/maintenance and proactively monitor the health of the overall DMS infrastructure;
• generate advanced reports relating to the DMS system;
• plan and prepare for upgrades which includes acting as project lead for major deployment and upgrade projects, application configuration, testing and contributing to communication plans;
• analyze procedures, methods and operations of computer based information systems and act as the point of contact between the application services team, programming and networking staff and users to ensure that the systems activities satisfy user requirements;
• provide enhanced system administration for the DMS and other management system servers and databases;
• provide escalation support for the Help Desk and provide specialized training and support to Information Services staff;
• help design, implement and recommend applications to improve the effectiveness and economy of operations; and
• create and maintain application/server documentation for IS procedural manuals.
Position Requirements
• A university degree or college diploma in a technological discipline, plus a minimum of three year's relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• excellent writing skills and the ability to present complex ideas succinctly and clearly

• advanced problem solving and creative thinking skills for troubleshooting and system configuration decisions
Technology Skills
• strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
• expert level knowledge of document management systems such as Autonomy iManage or Open Text
• experience and understanding of SQL, database architecture, best practices, integration, stored procedure development
• experience with application integration tools such as SharePoint based portals, file crawling/indexing and appliance based data integration tools (such as Informatica or IntApp)
• solid understanding of the application lifecycle process, including requirement analysis, quality assurance, design, scheduling, implementation, issue tracking, version control and deployment
• strong knowledge of scripting language and automation of repetitive tasks through scripting language such as Windows Host Script, Visual Basic scripting
• an Interwoven Certified Systems Engineer (ICSE) certification for Autonomy iManage v8.2 or v8.5 is an asset
• experience in Microsoft Active Directory/Group Policy and application deployment software architecture (Microsoft SMS, SCCM) is an asset
