Essential Functions: The Data Warehouse Programmer Analyst works in conjunction with the Data Integration Team and Project Managers to develop and support the firm's Data Warehouse, which provides firm-wide reporting to a number of business units. The DW Programmer Analyst will participate in analyzing and documenting requirements, designing database schemas, ETL methods, and other programmatic and automation tasks necessary to retrieve all necessary data into the Data Warehouse. The DW Programmer Analyst will have a significant role both in hands on development and high level design of the Data Warehouse and ETL processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Participate in the development and high-level design meetings of Data Warehouse related projects.
• Serve as a "subject matter expert" regarding all aspects of the Data Warehouse, including systems/processes that connect to it.
• Employ analytical, conceptual, and creative thinking skills to improve overall business and systems performance.
• Design, develop, and implement ETL and data integration processes to populate the data warehouse within nightly processing windows.
• Design, develop, and implement quality assurance and other validation processes that verify the validity of the information contained within the data warehouse.
• Design, develop, and implement meta-data about the data warehouse which identifies where data is sourced.
• Maintain effective working relationships with the Data Integration team, Project Managers, other Business Applications and Development teams, and the firm as a while.
• Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring that all project activity is customer focused, results oriented, performance driven, and in compliance with all applicable internal and external requirements and processes.
• Provide best practice documentation of all data warehouse related projects and processes.
• Develop and maintain code using Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008, SSIS, Microsoft Reporting Services, and Microsoft BizTalk.
• Maintain a robust development environment that ensures version control, testing, and deployment of enterprise wide information systems
• Demonstrate advanced techniques for reviewing and trouble-shooting complex code designs written by multiple developers, reverse engineering, identifying incompatibilities and providing alternatives for improved design and performance.
• Knowledge of server software operation, maintenance and extension (using various programming tools) and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to multiple server platforms.
• Ability to take direction, accept criticism constructively and to be diplomatic when reviewing work of others.
• Ability to solve problems and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment.
• Build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
• Listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) to understand and respond positively to their requests.

• SQL Server development including database design and stored procedures.
• SSIS/DTS package design and development.
• Microsoft Reporting Services including report design and development.
• Microsoft OLAP tools and analysis constructs.
• Data Warehousing design fundamentals, including dimensional data modeling star schemas, ROLAP and MOLAP.
• Oracle/Hyperion EssBase knowledge a plus.
Education: • 7 years general relational database and reporting development experience.
• 5+ years experience with BI/data warehousing analysis and development including database design, ETL and reporting.
• 5+ years experience using Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures and SSIS/DTS packages and using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and/or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience using modeling techniques as a tool for application design and development.
