Systems Administrator – VA – Norfolk

Responsibilities:
General responsibility for the administration of the firm's core technology system, including administration, installation, implementation and support.

Responsibilities include:
 Provide support, monitoring and maintenance for network infrastructure and components including servers, storage arrays, network components and backup devices, desktops and laptops;
 Determine the cause of any network issues and provide trouble-shooting and immediate corrections, where applicable;
 Oversee the operation of servers and storage systems including software and hardware installation, upgrades, service packs and patches, system monitoring and job scheduling;
 Virtualization with Windows Server 2008;
 Desktop application deployment and support;
 Exchange/2007 Administration;
 Manage SAN, including back-up, maintenance, replication, etc.;
 Sharepoint 2007 administration;
 Assist with day-to-day management and support of the firm's document management system and related systems, including ethical wall systems, matter-centric workspace generation tools and automated data import tools;
 Ensure the consistency and maintenance of existing applications by enforcing standards and procedures for technical solutions;
 Participate in hardware and software evaluations and make recommendations;
 Back-up support for Help Desk;
 Design, implement and maintain Active Directory Group Policy Settings to manage users, servers and workstations;
 Install and test application upgrades to ensure seamless integration;
 Maintain and support Hyper-V virtualized infrastructure environment, SAN environment, server infrastructure for remote users and remote access solutions including Citrix;
 Identify areas for change or enhancement to improve quality efficiency, and continually evaluate and improve existing and new services;
 Analyze business needs of users and recommend technical solutions;
 Manage user maintenance including changes, deletes and security rights;
 Utilize monitoring tools to detect and report application, network and security issues;
 Participate in DR planning for enterprise systems;
 Experience writing basic Structured Query Language queries helpful.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong technical skills; strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities; must work well independently and in a team environment; must possess strong focus on customer service; self-motivated; ability to lift and carry items weighing 40 pounds or less; ability to work full-time hours, some overtime as needed and participate in on-call rotation for network emergencies.

Qualifications:
Required: 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT field

Preferred:
Knowledge and experience in legal industry setting or in other professional services industry

Technical Trainer – UT – Salt Lake City

Stoel Rives LLP, a large multi-state law firm, is seeking a qualified technical trainer in it's Salt Lake City office.

The successful applicant will be able to research, develop, document, coordinate and provide training for lawyers and staff on computer software and hardware.  (Hardware includes computer operating systems and peripherals such as scanners and printers. Software includes current standards for desktop productivity, primarily Microsoft Office 2003/2007.)

JOB SCOPE:
• Deliver training in one-on-one, small group or large group settings; present information in a logical, accurate and effective manner; publicize available training and materials; evaluate and document training plans and workshops; report on training attendance and topics covered.
• Conduct assessments to determine current and future needs in information technology training, and establish goals, objectives and priorities.  Establish an environment conducive to achieving these objectives, and which addresses different learning modalities and styles.
• Develop training modules in various modalities (live workshops, Web-based tutorials) on standard and proprietary software applications and computer operating systems; regularly redesign training programs to meet changing needs and objectives.
• Create and provide assessment tests focused on certifying end-user knowledge.
• Research, design, write and produce clear user documentation and other training materials (Web sites, multimedia and online tutorials).
• Assist with Help Desk support coverage on the firm's technology.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of training experience.
• Extensive knowledge of operating systems, such as Windows XP and Vista.
• Extensive knowledge of various software applications to enhance desktop productivity (e.g., Microsoft Office 2003/2007, document management software), as well as legal applications (e.g., MacPac, Carpe Diem).
• Effectively use new instructional technologies such as Web development, multimedia, courseware, course management software, and CD-ROMs.
• Understand curriculum development, technical writing and instructional design.
• Ability to design curriculum for new software rollouts and continuing education.
• Ability to present complex subject matter in understandable terms to learners with diverse levels of computer experience.
