Help Desk Technician – NY – New York
Monday, February 15th, 2010-Provide excellent technical support to our legal and non-legal staff, resolving as many requests on initial contact as possible.
-Document all calls, e-mails and other interactions in a tracking database.
-Have excellent troubleshooting skills.
-Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially 2007), DeltaView, Innova, Microsystems DocXTools, and Adobe Acrobat along with other legal-specific applications.
-Have strong knowledge of BlackBerry devices and support methods.
-Have strong knowledge of Citrix.
-Work closely with other Help Desk staff and other groups within IT to ensure rapid, thorough problem resolution and user satisfaction.
-Be available for occasional overtime as well as off-hours on-call support.
-Contribute to other IT initiatives and projects.

SQL Server Database Administrator – PA – Pittsburgh

Currently, we are recruiting for a SQL Server Database Administrator in our Pittsburgh location, located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh in Oxford Centre. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and administering application system servers, including web servers in support of business processing requirements. This person will create database design specifications based on understanding of business transactions. The SQL Database Administrator serves as senior operational administrator on the SQL team and builds customer relationships across functions. This individual will be responsible for the configuration, integration and support of SQL and associated toolsets as well as management reporting. The SQL Administrator is also a Project Team member, providing technical design and definition of implementation tasks for specific enterprise projects of moderately complex to complex technical scope.
Specific Responsibilities of the Position include:
• Manage, monitor, and maintain SQL databases ensuring database integrity, stability, and security. Establish process/procedures for ongoing data cleanup.
• Design codes, tests, and implement custom database scripts and formal procedures.
• Design, implement, and maintain data retention and archival; plan for storage needs, retention, backup and recovery.
• Plan and manage database tables to maximize their use for various reports; devise effective methods for report and data distribution.
• Provide systems engineering and administrative support across a wide array of Windows-based software and hardware systems and components used to deliver computing service with emphasis on SQL.
• Advise database users on best methods for scheduling, running, and managing their custom and application reports.
• Assist with the configuration, maintenance, and data migration associated with the Firm's Practice Management System - Elite, and back end Informix database.
• Perform both routine and emergency systems administration tasks in daily operations.
• Assist in identifying and resolving database problems of moderate to difficult scope; serve as an escalation point of system and application problems.
• Work with the Billing and Finance Departments, external clients, and administrative staff to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and devise more effective solutions.
• Create and maintain Electronic Billing Interfaces (EBI) and custom reports/queries as needed.
• Assist in identifying and correcting written reports, maximizing server resources, and specifying views to facilitate reporting.
Skills and Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree with minimum five years of professional computer networking/back office systems/project management and SQL database administration experience.
• Knowledge and experience with SQL is a must.
• Strong technical foundation in database structure, configuration, installation, and practice.
• Professional certification from Microsoft is preferred.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with senior management; demonstrated ability to communicate solutions and educate.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to perform at a high level of effectiveness, in a fast paced environment, managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal skills combined with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Currently, we are recruiting for an experienced Senior Systems Consulting Analyst in our Pittsburgh location, located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh in Oxford Centre.
The Senior Systems Consulting Analyst functions as part of the IT project team and reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents business requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Leads multiple projects and oversees developers to ensure that specifications are met. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Engages in a variety of tasks and performs the role of team leader. Provides consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Specific Responsibilities of the Position Include:
• Install, configure, maintain, support, and upgrade all components of the firm's Practice Management Systems: This includes hardware (~26 servers), DBMS, Operating Systems, and server/client applications.
• Maintain established backup and recovery procedures. Monitor performance and tune financial servers. Perform server capacity planning.
• Resolve problems with financial server hardware and software. Provide 7x24 support when needed.
• Maintain documentation and standards.
• Interface with Elite, and other vendors as needed for technical support and customizations.
• Provide and enforce guidelines related to system access and development for vendors.
• Coordinate with the vendor, financial, networking, and applications teams to accomplish goals. Continue to improve upon the strategic direction set for the firm's financial systems.
• Maintain separate development and testing environments to protect the production environment and to eliminate contention among the varied activities.
• Lead the development of specifications for custom programs and reports.
• Coordinate budget planning related to the financial systems. Estimate budgets, develop proposals, and maintain established project budget when leading a project.
• Provide technical and consultative advice to custom reporting teams and developers.
• Direct and supervise vendors, consultants, and team members when leading projects.
Skills and Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or area of specialty with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Minimum of five to eight years technical experience administering SQL database systems.
• Advanced understanding of MS Business Objects, SQL, MS Operating systems, Citrix, IIS, VMWare.
• SQL Server - complex query development, User Defined Functions and DTS (SSIS) Packages.
• Experienced in writing SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, Views and ETL process and Reference Data Management.
• Demonstrated understanding of the interrelationship of hardware, OS, and SQL DBMS.
• Advanced understanding of relational database design, both logical and physical, and SQL.
• Communicates professionally and diplomatically with all levels of users, managers, and vendors.
• Ability to qualitatively and objectively evaluate and recommend technological changes in the context of business requirements.
• Dependable team player with a strong sense of client and coworker service.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects.
• Prior knowledge of the Elite financial system preferred.
